At Last, Pictures....

Just in case you thought we'd secretly moved to Spain for Christmas, here are some pictures of Xpresso’s current piece, ‘Bankrupt’, during the costume rehearsal last night. We were also ‘off book’ (No scripts) for the first time: This is the time where rehearsals go from being work to being fun. The story is that the Bank manager, Mesquin is already in a bad mood because some philanthropist called Davidson has bought the bank and could turn up any moment. She cancels all appointments for the morning except one with a widow and single mum who is far behind in her debt payments. During the interview Mesquin tries every possible avenue to get the money back, forcing her interviewee further and further into a corner...
"The bank has the right to reposess your house and sell it to recover the debt"
Mesquin putting the pressure on Mrs. Raven (Judith Däuble).
Then Mr. Davidson turns up, looking a bit like a hippy, but very much in charge.
Actually, I think you'll find I do own the place..."
Mr. Davidson (Manuel Däuble) interrupts proceedings.

Everything Changes...
This last photo is my favourite, possibly one of my all time favourite Xpresso images. All of the cast are in character, and those who can are focused on the main action (what Davidson is doing) and reacting to it. There is a lot of energy in the picture, even from people who aren't moving, but it is all controlled, the team are watching each other, ready to help each other when someone looses their place in the script. Good quality stuff all round.
