A decade of intense use comes to an end.An era of our family history came to an end yesterday with the final destruction of the small blue sofa. This sofa was given to us second hand from our school leaders in Hurlach, and has survived many dozens of students, three small boys, and several repairs (I repaired it three times, and there is evidence of more) but finally succumbed yesterday when one of the Xpresso team leaned on the arm.
The arm was really waiting to drop off and probably would have done so without any further encouragement anyway, so we aren't too worried, but on closer inspection we realised that there isn't any undamaged area left to bolt the arm to. We've hoden the remains of the armrest, and taken the legs off so it is resting on the floor, so it now looks like a very chic chaise-lounge. Personally I think it is more comfortable. I'll be interested to see what out housegroup makes of it.
We are debating if we should wait until someone throws out an old one, or take this as an opportunity to get the bed-sofa we've wanted for years.
