Cold dampness

Last night Dominik was in charge of the rehearsal which gave me a few moments to take photos. Hopefully this will give an idea of what we are doing...

Dominik trying to read stage notes by streetlamp. This got harder as the evening went on and rain smudged more of the script. Every time it began to rain Dominic would point at the sky and ask God to stop it. Then three minutes later it would be dry again. Dominik was healed from cancer (ie he shouldn't really be alive right now) which I guess does build up faith in prayer...


After a while it all got too much for the Professor...


... but fortunately Ruprecht was nearby with an umbrella for the script.

The blocking is over, thanks to the amazing willingness of the team to stand about in the cold and follow the whims of the loony directors. Now the fun starts: we have to fine tune everything and get the emotions, mannerisms and timing right so that in 10 days the audience is blown over by our brilliance, and cut to the heart by the message. Next rehearsal is on Wednesday, when we are ‘Off book’- meaning there will be no scripts on stage, and then we get into the fun of dress and technical rehearsals, which interesting times I’ll explain as we go along…

Pray that it will be very good weather during Sunday afternoon and evening so we can set up outside.
