If you were wondering what the team were up to last month: this is it. Translated the title reads: “The sinking ship of Lady Romanza Margarita from-to-and on Butter Bread”. The brief was for a fun, joyful piece about recognition of guilt and repentance. We made a piece that was sort of readers-theatre-but-not-as-we-know-it. The team held scripts, but there was all manner of fun and surprises, with people appearing from different parts of the church, conversations between the balcony and the stage, and various props being pulled out and used at different moments.

It seems people liked the piece. In the fedback someone said that the preaching and theatre worked really well together, so it was worth rewriting the piece. It was clear that people holding the scripts were not a problem to understanding or fun when we rehearsed people with how to hold them, so we’ll develop that further with new and different stories. For now we will be concentrating on the "Ancient Call" mini tour, writing and preparing material, and I'm working on a drama for that at the moment. We have a “definite” booking from one church. We’ll have to see exactly what we do for that: it’s on the same day as our church’s “Abenteuerland” family service and some of the “Xpresso” team will be in the band, but we’ll figure something out.
