October the 31st was the “Church Night” here, or “Reformation Night” Our church had a service in the evening, a mix of older and modern music, and afterwards there was a fire in the courtyard, and Flammkuchen (A local version of Pizza) and our local YP’s stayed overnight. These two wanted to sleep by the campfire, but they had horizontal rain, so they retreated to the porch.

When I was a YP we never had sleeping bags or nothing.
Lucky if there was a damp tea bag with a little warmth left in it to huddle round and we were greatful for the rain it helped get the dirt all caked and nice to provide protection against the wind which would always come etc. etc.
