We’ve finally got our first proper sword. It's actually nearer in length to a dagger, but it's a proper "Battle Ready" (ie you can use it for stage fighting) piece, not a display sword. I’ve wanted to start a sword collection for some time and fortunately a gift came from someone in the UK just as we needed one for this production. This is a great example of the sort of thing we are trying to do. Because we are working as Absolute story, in cooperation with a church, we can get things like this which most church groups can't afford or wouldn't fiund much use for, and through that we can improve the quality of theatre in the church we are working woth and reach people in our local area...
Now our swashbuckling warrior doesn’t have to wave a cardboard weapon…
