We decided during the 'dreamday' at the start of this year that the time for us to start learning to garden and grow things is now, not when we have a garden, so we've found someone from our house group willing to let us put a couple of pots on the edge of their vegetable patch and we are growing four tomato plants and one with cucumbers. If we don't kill them all in the year it will be a great thing for the boys to see something growing and to make the connection between food, plants, and soil. As they are getting the water out of a water butt and having to carry it to the plants they will be learning a bit about looking after that as well.
