Last night I got a phone call from one of the team, Someone's family was throwing out Sperrmüll- Rubbish too large to go in a normal bin, rather like gettting a skip. In Germany people make the appointment and leave their rubbish outside for the truck. If you move fast enough you can take anything you want.
This is why me and one other of the theatre team could be seen scrabbling about a big pile of wood at 8pm last night. In the dark. Which really gave the neighbours something to think about. Especially when we dropped a glass lampshade. Then we had to bring our booty home so we were wandering through the village carrying abig pile of wood between us. We decided that if anyone asked questions we'd say we were red cross volunteers practicing how to carry stretchers.
