Helmut, our much appreciated pastor, announced last night that he and Gretel will soon be moving to their next appointment in Waldrennach, a small village near Pforzheim. We won't lose contact with them, fortunately, as several family members will still be in the area- including ourt Goddaughter, and Lucas' Godfather. Nonetheless, this leaves a lot of questions for us, as the main reason we were able to come here was Helmut taking the risk of letting us loose on his unsuspecting congregation, and our feiendship in the meantime has allowed Absolute Story/Xpresso to grow and develop in ways we never expected. While another pastor can't, strictly speaking, stop us working in what we do overnight, their their theology and their attitude to our work and place in the church will obviously be a big influence on what we do. If we have a pastor that believes the last word in church services was a liturgy written in 1532, for example, it may be difficult for our anarchic theatre to fit their vision. To be fair this is pretty unlikely at the moment, the church is moving on, and any pastor coming is likely to be open to what we are doing here, but it still means changes to what we do, and although I've experienced a lot of pastors changing churches, that was from 'the inside': to start from scratch building a new relationship with a new pastor will be a very different thing. Once again we would value your prayers.
